What if i say,these things are actually playing vital role in Indian sports leagues like IPL AND ISL. Indian Leagues are basically targeting revenues or profits throughout the tournament.
Indian Premier League:
This league is actually growing every year, which leads to increasing audience, increasing sponsors and also broadcast.IPL is a major league in Indian history till now. (Also read an article from the guardian.com)
including eight states in india (except Chennai Super kings and Rajasthan royals ) across the world IPL audience is 7-8 million people which is four times better than Australian BIG BASH League.
Due to some betting problems 2013, LODHA PANEL banned Chennai super kings and Rajasthan Royals for 2 years.Even though it is a temporary ban, these two teams especially CSK which is a consistent team faced this unexpected problem.The viewers average is dropped due to absence of CSK fans wathcing IPL. It dropped from 4.5 to 3.5.
Indian Super League:
Two years before Indian Super League started as Indian domestic football League.In April 2014 the owners were announced. Bollywood stars such as Ranbir Kapoor, John Abraham, and Salman Khan were bid winners, as well as cricket stars such as Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly (Source:wikipedia) In 2014 opening game watched by 74.7m on television. The average attendance is 24,357. Though it is lower than the Bundesliga, the Premier League and La Liga, it is the fourth biggest league in the world. Bigger than France, than Italy, than Brazil, than Argentina and China.
Another important thing in ISL is,everytime the league starts, they buying famous players across country.
Also this league is dominating one of the India's famous and old football tournament I-League.Rumor is ,now these two leagues going to merge May be this come true later (Read ISL and I-LEAGUE merger)
In both leagues the franchise are 70% bollywood actors and remaining 30% owned by private companies and others.
Each league starts with opening ceremony which you can see even Pitbull but average of people in opening ceremony is very low.
These two leagues are highly dominated by advertisement companies.Every time the rewards are giving away with several companies.
In 2014 ISL generated €69.5m across the world
The promotion of these two leagues are done by various ads related to the leagues including star sports, set max.Every time the league starts, they releasing promo songs for IPL and teasers for ISL for promoting the Leagues.
ISL viewership is increasing everytime on the first week of the league. Last time 40 million in its first week across the world and 429 million at the end of the league across nation.
IPL viewership on 2015 increased to 41% which is not happened to any other indian leagues
ISL,with an average attendance of approximately 23,000 fans per league game.
